Mass-Flow method

Test medium: Pressurized air

Detectable leakage rates: >0.5 cc/min

Testing method:
Test specimen)is pressurized/evacuated. Air flowing out/in through leakages is replaced using a thermal mass flow meter and the mass flow determined.

Mass-Flow

Advantages:

  • very fast testing possible due to instantaneous measuring signal
  • large measuring range
  • pressure independent calibration
  • usable for leakage testing and flow measuring
  • low pressure drop over the measured section

 

Drawbacks:

  • thermal and elastic changes on the test specimen influence the measurement result
