Pressure rise method

Test medium: Pressurized air or nitrogen resp. vacuum

Detectable leakage rates: Volume-dependent >0.1 cc/min

Testing method:
Test specimen is pressurized/evacuated. The p pressure change caused by leakages in a bell enclosing the test piece is measured and evaluated. Often the testing bell will be evacuated additionally.

Integra

Advantages:

  • fast testing procedure possible since relaxation phase is nearly omitted
  • also suitable for very high test pressure (>100 bar) )
  • no operator-dependent evaluation

Drawbacks:

  • high mechanical expenditure for testing appliance due to required testing bell
  • thermal and elastic changes in the test piece influence the measurement result
